Eyebrow Tinting
Posted by admin
Eyebrow tinting is a very attractive procedure if you have just changed your
haircolor and/or would like to just switch things up a little bit. You may also be looking to hide those “natural” silver grays that just appeared in your brows, and also tired of filling in with a pencil. Keep in mind that you want your brow color to compliment your facial features, and make you look natural and youthful. This process is fairly quick, usually takes between 5 to 10 minutes, and will last for about a month. It is a perfect add-on treatment to any in-salon service. Tinting your brows can add some precious time to your busy life as you won’t need to take time to fill your brows with pencil or makeup! Make sure that your brows are groomed (trimmed, tweezed, waxed) and shaped the way you like before considering an eyebrow tint, as sparse or overplucked eyebrows will just be enhanced with the tint. If you are wanting to go lighter, professionals recommend going no lighter than two shades of your existing brow color. If going darker, go no deeper than two shades.

Step by step process of applying eyebrow tint
Establish the client’s desired color.
Lay your client back in the shampoo bowl to make them more comfortable.
Remove any makeup from the brows with makeup remover and cotton pad.
Use brow comb and comb brows in their natural direction.
Apply a small amount of color protectant creme around the eyebrows to keep tint from staining the skin. (Optional)
Mix desired haircolor with developer and/or lightener in a color bowl using a color whisk.
Using the mascara wand or brow comb, dip into mixed haircolor and apply to eyebrows starting at the inner corner of the brow.
Continue applying tint with mascara wand and comb tint in the direction of the natural brow line.
Go back over any areas you may have missed.
If any tint has gotten outside the eyebrow line, use stain remover and a q-tip or cotton pad to remove.
Repeat steps 7-10.
Process for 1-5 minutes. (Processing time varies depending on how light or dark you are wanting to go)
Dampen a cotton pad or towel with water and remove tint from eyebrows. You may add a little shampoo if you wish.
To keep your brows looking their best, you will want to schedule a touch up in about a month, or the same time that you would normally get a root touch up.
As you can see, there are many benefits from adding color to your brows. In addition to the ones that have been mentioned, your brows will have a little more volume as the tint gives each individual hair slightly more thickness.
If you’re not ready to commit to eyebrow tinting just yet, you can always experiment with a little
makeup on your brows!
